I specialize in the intersection of hardware and software. My work focuses on building robust backend systems that can handle complex data ingestion, particularly from IoT devices.

With a strong foundation in Python, Django, and Linux environments, I design local-first architectures. I believe that not everything needs to rely on the cloud. By leveraging powerful local hardware and containerized deployments, I create systems that prioritize security, speed, and privacy.

_Core Focus Areas

• Writing highly optimized data processing pipelines using Python, Django, cuDF and Pandas.
• Deploying and managing Docker infrastructure, including compatibility with TrueNAS.
• Orchestrating local AI and offline machine learning tools.
• Designing secure platforms for hardware telemetry.

_How it started...

From a young age I have worked on all things IoT before it was even given a name.

My background involves working in a family business that specialised in Radio, Mobile and Satellite technologies. Including installations and repair.

If it had an internet connection, I've worked on it.

The next step of my journey was in country Queensland. Servicing everything including PC's, Laptops, Servers, Self-Serve Kiosks, EFTPOS systems, Unmanned Petrol Sites and ATM's.

The big accomplishments.

Some of the first IoT devices in the world are the Automated Teller Machine. I have been fortunate enough to install and comission the newest technologies associated with them. Including coin and cash deposit modules, and for the first time in Australia, Pay-Wave (RFID) installed on an ATM. I have won awards for excellence in this field.

The Digital Signage Era.

The next big move I went on to Digital Signage. Managing a network of Advertising Screens and creating a backend portal to manage the network efficiently. This included in-depth diagnostics and automations.
